My husband's birthday was last weekend. This weekend was my husband's ex-wife's husband's birthday (that's a lot of apostrophes!). We decided to have a joint birthday party to celebrate the two birthdays!
It makes me happy that my husband's ex-wife is a good friend of mine. Ditto for the men. People often say it is unusual but I don't think it has to be.
