I'm being followed by a tree shadow...
This shadow caught my attention as my husband and I were leaving to go to an art show at the local museum. He was patient enough to back up and let me run back in the house for my camera. No wonder I love him so much!

Happiness is not the absence of problems but the ability to deal with them
I loved being off work today - despite being furloughed. Besides, there are worse things than a month of ramen noodles for supper (kidding! well, not really... because who wants to eat ramen noodles for an entire month...).
It was a gorgeous day -- but cold! I cleaned out the laundry room, worked out, got a haircut (short and sassy), made pizza and spent some quality time hanging out with the dog in the garden. It was an outstanding day!

Miss Poopy Soup
My sons and husband tell me that I pick Miss Poopy for the picture of the day too often. I say she is a willing model. And look at that face. Doesn't it just scream terrified having a blast?
For the record, she wasn't that cooperative. Regardless, she was treated to several treats. No need for enforcers of pet labor laws or PETA to come after me.

The will to win means nothing without the will to prepare
Only 3 weeks until my first half marathon. Today, I ran 13 miles - and that makes me feel confident about the upcoming race. This is one of my favorite streets to run down. I love how the aged oaks, covered with Spanish moss, branch out over the road. And the road ends at an old cemetery.
It is probably a good thing that I don't actually live on this street because I'd want to look at the view from the middle of the road all the time. And if I did that, I'd likely get hit by a car.
