Today, we found out one of our students won the 1st place in the local poetry contest for MLK, Jr. Day. Her poem was beautiful and emotionally haunting -- such a strong and clear voice.
Earlier this year, I had to have several conversations with this student about her behavior. About the way she treated other students.
Sometimes a mean girl can learn to be nice again. Just thinking about how happy she looked when she saw her proud parents makes me smile again.
