Sometimes, I have to pause to appreciate how tough so many of my students are. I work in a school with a high rate of poverty and some of our students have such struggles to overcome just to live. And then they come to school and we have to sell them on the idea of learning to read and do math.
Educators are the best salesmen I've ever known.

My grandkids go to a school where the district buses kids from downtown where poverty surrounds them. It breaks my heart, they are just little kids that need a "chance" in life! I loved your post tonight.
